Reading Report: 14 April 2024

This week I finished Gundam Wing and started on Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. Also made steady progress with Dunbine and 二十四歳職業OL、転生先でキシリアやってます. Some spoilers for each inside.

新機動戦記ガンダムW

The final episodes of Wing were pretty good. I liked to see the different way character pairs resolved by the end. I think ヒイロ and ゼクス・ミリアルド was one of the weaker rivalries, but I liked ウーフェイ and トレーズ, and I was surprised to find ドロシー's story resolved fairly well with her interaction with カトル. I was initially a bit annoyed that the story basically reversed the death of レディ・アンテベラム but she enhanced the ending so I forgive it. I liked the final episode, though it was very CCA, and the very final nod to episode 1 was cute.

聖戦士ダンバイン

ショウ is like 95% integrated into the rebel faction, though he still has a bit of a complex. In one episode they attempt to save the princess and the elemental lady, but while ショウ is lifting the elemental out of her prison, the queen threatens to kill her own daughter if ショウ doesn't put the elemental back and retreat. ショウ doesn't risk it, and the group argues about whether the queen had it in her...
There was a mini-arc where the rebel girl キーン has to contend with the fact that her father is a kingdom crony.

鋼の錬金術師 FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST

The new mainline anime after Wing ended. The language in this show is a lot more complicated than any Gundam show, probably because of all the alchemy/chemistry-related terminology, though it's not impossible to follow for the most part. I enjoy Ed and Al's chemistry. Many of the other characters are a bit much (I mean Ed is already a bit much). Episode 4 was messed up.

二十四歳職業OL転生先で、キシリアやってます　下
