機動戦艦ナデシコ

This week I finished of 機動戦艦ナデシコ, 機動武闘伝Gガンダム, and started 新機動戦記ガンダムW (Gundam Wing). Making slow but steady progress with 二十四歳職業OL転生先で、キシリアやってます.

機動戦艦ナデシコ

I watched the final episodes of this at the very beginning of the week. There was some good emotional moments, but I was let down by a lack of catharsis at the very end. If I didn't know there was a feature-length movie I still had to watch, I think I'd be fairly frustrated by the lack of a true ending. Overall I enjoyed the series moderately. I could really feel the characters' love for the super robot genre.

機動武闘伝Gガンダム

Finally finished this series. In the end there were some pretty good episodes and moments. Particularly アレンビー hugely improved my enjoyment of the story, particularly how she played off of both ドモン and レイン. However on a whole I was fairly unimpressed. The setting, pacing, and the ways it went over the top just did not vibe with me very much at all.
At least it had a nice ending.

新機動戦記ガンダムW

Moving right along, starting the next main series. Another non-UC Gundam, though this one seems to have a lot more in common with standard Gundam expectations. In a weird way it's even more standard than Victory (so far, maybe not as things go on). I like what I've seen so far, though some of the spy thriller moments feel a bit over the top. The three main characters, リリーナ, ヒイロ, and ゼクス are compelling whenever they're on screen. I want to learn more about them.

Very slow progress towards the end this week, mostly because I gave a bit more of my free time to 機動武闘伝Gガンダム.
The main character is increasingly difficult to relate to. While it's coming close to the end of book one, I can only hope she'll understand the good thing she has in book two and will stop rigidly trying to bad-end her entire family.
Hopefully I can be done this week so I can have a little manga intermission over Easter break.
