Reading Report: 25 June 2023

Fairly good progress with reading this week. I read a bunch of なるたる and kept up to date with 少年のアビス and also met my audio quotas with some Zelda let's plays.

💣 なるたる Vol 8-11
A lot of stuff goes down. One of the volumes is almost entirely dedicated to Shiina's dad having a mini adventure in Russia where he helps an old lady meet her missing son (and Baba Yaga is involved). We also get a fairly long side story where Shiina helps a woman reconnect with her son, which ends with a lot of tragedy for everyone involved. Vol 11 has mostly been a sort of "end-game" state. Everyone is suffering, no one is happy. I feel like things need to resolve now.

👩 少年のアビス Vol 13
I read the latest volume of this. There are a lot of "missed connections" which felt a bit silly with Reiji and Shibasawa running around, but the main story elements this volume were Gen and Yuuko reconnecting and Gen's emotional transformation. The whole time I was reading it I was like "who is the woman on the cover I don't recognise her" and it turns out the answer was Gen 😳.

Most of my audio this week was youtuber キヨ playing Tears of the Kingdom (and a bit of Breath of the Wild). I still find him a little bit high energy but I've started to warm up to his editing style for these videos at least.

I also played a little bit of Dragon Quest X Offline. I did the ジュレット町 cat questline. Every time I cry for ソーミャ.

Life Stuff
I've been with my partner for the last week or so, working on projects, reading, and enjoying his company. It's been nice. We went to housesit another place for the weekend but had to cut it short due to circumstances and getting home was a whole thing. Would not recommend. Cooking and spending time with him has been nice at least.
