Reading Report: 11 June 2023
More Zelda, finished volume 7 of なるたる, and not a whole lot more. Spoilers for some mid-/late-game Zelda stuff. Be warned.
👊 なるたる
Vol 7 (cont)
Shiina is confronted by Ozawa at her new school but doesn't quite recognise who she is at first. A series of circumstances leads to Shiina going to Ozawa's house where she meets her mum and her and Ozawa have a sort of make-up moment, although it's clear Ozawa isn't happy about this.
Shiina meets with Ozawa for an "art exhibit" on their day off and when Ozawa recognises one of the exhibitions Shiina knows she was there on the day 200 people died. She hits Ozawa for real, but she's stopped from escalating things further by Bungo.
Once again no One Piece updates. Mostly filled audio time with a "のんびり狩猟生活実況" of Monster Hunter 3G. It's chill but I also feel like I'm not missing as much when I mix it with Zelda.
👻 ゼルダの伝説:ティアーズ・オブ・ザ・キングダム Started and finished the gerudo questline. The ギブド are cool and I like how there's a big focus on how the gerudo need to learn a new strategy for dealing with them. The ヴォーイ stuff is kind of fun like usual. 恋愛授業 is cute mostly for the one girl who is too shy about ヴォーイ. I also love the gimmick of gerudo weapons, that they get 2x stats for whatever you attach to them.
I also started the next part of the story and was a bit frustrated by the disconnect between all story NPCs saying "we need to find Zelda" while I know exactly where she is but I'm just unable to do anything about it or tell anyone. Feels bad man.
The Zelda stuff is weird. I feel like I have no trouble telling what most NPCs are saying and sometimes they'll even use new vocabulary but if I was asked to recall any specific vocab, I couldn't. I guess it's just bad immersion in that way. Doesn't absorb like books for me.
Life Stuff
Not too much of note. I'm making more progress on an article I'm writing. I'm mostly doing data-collection but I feel like I should finish it ASAP so I can start actually composing the proper stuff.
