Reading Report: 07 May 2023
I finished my fourth novel of the year and decided to celebrate by turning my focus to manga for a little while. I read some things that have been on my TBR since at least February, and next week will likely be a similar story.

😃 山を刻む
In remembering her love of mountaineering, the MC realises that the problem isn't that people took away a part of her, it was that she closed off a part of her passion when she decided to start a family. She decides that the remedy for that is to purchase a small lodge in the Alps and invite her family into her life and her passion.
👶 新参者の富士
Just 10 (9.1) pages long. It's about a person with a chronic illness who challenges themselves to ascend mount Fuji. While climbing they find out that geologically speaking, Fuji is a newcomer to the world. When the MC's friend suggests they climb to the peak next year, MC says 「できるかな」to which the friend says "hey we're 新参者 as well! 30 years old is still new relative to human lifespans." Pretty cute.
🕳️ 少年のアビス 12巻
Reiji gets closure with Esemori and hangs out with Nagi for a bit. We find out that 春の棺 is getting drama adaptation and Nagi is cast in the show. Chako is not happy. Meanwhile Shibasawa and Yuuko are extremely polite to each other and use other people as pawns in their social manipulation to defeat one another.
👹 チェンソーマン 14巻
Just like last volume, I think there's strong writing between Asa and Yoru. Asa and Denji's relationship is also pretty cute, and the comedy writing feels well timed. The end of the 水族館 part felt a little bit brief and the whole part generally felt like a repeat scenario of the 永遠の悪魔 thing from Part 1. Overall it really feels like a bridging volume for big drama I can only hope comes next volume.
👧 明日、私は誰かのカノジョ 13巻
It was pretty good. Wrapped up Nanami's story. As her life fell apart and she faced rock bottom she was able to rebuild herself in an honest way and salvage what good she had. We also started the first part of the "Last Part" where we return to Yuki, to March 2020, and see a time when her mother wanted to salvage their relationship.
🏴☠️ One Piece: From ep 62 to 76
One Piece continues to be very enjoyable. The crew are properly on the Grand Line, dealing with members of Baroque Works and helping Vivi get back to her hometown. They're currently on a pre-historic island fighting off Mr Three, Miss Golden Week, Mr Five, and Miss Wednesday.
Life Stuff
No updates on medical things...
School has been pretty hectic, but my sleep schedule is partially to blame. I've been having a lot of trouble falling asleep and that's bleeding into my mornings. I'm stressing about how soon all the group projects are coming due and how few at least one of them has very little progress and I'm gonna have to make up for it every weekend until the due dates... I feel like I pushed myself to make the semester work as well as I could and now there's a chance it all goes downhill because of a lack of group cohesion 💀
There's a test this week. Hopefully after that it'll be full focus on the group projects by everyone, and it'll all come together in the end.
