Reading Report: 16 April 2023
This week I had all sorts of opportunities to get hours of reading in, but I still managed to hit an low count compared to the average over the last few months.

🎸 天王寺ハイエイタス
I didn't even read enough to totally finish this story (I'm like 3 pages from the end). It's pretty okay, but I wasn't really feeling it until the scenes where the MC and 兄貴 were fishing and talking about 哲おっちゃん (mentioned last week) and the 兄貴 basically suggested he was on ハイエイタス. It turns out that word has a few meanings depending on what science you're observing it from. MC thinks the 兄貴 is referring to 温暖化 ハイエイタス which is not too dissimilar to the regular meaning, just being applied to global warming, but later on 兄貴 clarifies that he actually meant it in terms of a different science principle largely concerned with analysing soil. There's been a lot of guitar talk and I learned about スライド・ギター stuff and I'm not sure what the reading of 弦 should be when used alone wrt the neck of a guitar (I assume).
(Sidenote: I don't usually check my previous reports and it's amusing to me that this story's emoji changed from a crown to a guitar just based on new information obtained while reading and understanding the story in more detail.)
Audio: About 8 hours, mostly 🏴☠️ One Piece. So far there was on episode I'd truly consider "filler", the one where they visit the chimera island and help the guy stuck in a 宝箱 emotionally before heading back on their cruise. Fun events so far: 鷹の目のミホーク beat the shit out of ゾロ, and ドン・クリーク is a loser. 赫足のゼフ and サンジ backstory was pog. It didn't make me cry, but it was 切ない af. I am currently up to episode 26.
Life Stuff
It was Easter Break and I spent it all working on school projects, right up until the last minute. Even though technically nothing is due until at least next Friday, part of me wants to get as much done as possible so the idea of the break was difficult to take... Not the best attitude to have.
I have a doctor's appointment booked for the medical concern mentioned last week. The appointment is still a little way off but just having a date set to see someone gives me some peace of mind.
