Reading Report: 19 March 2023

フィッシュストーリー

Another week of fairly low reading due to other commitments. Trucking along with フィッシュストーリー.

フィッシュストーリー 99 pages (total: 272)
The titular フィッシュストーリー story ended fairly interestingly. The third chapter was about the band creating the song, Fish Story, based on the book that every other chapter references (the first story also references the song). The final chapter sort of closes out the loop, returning to the woman from the plane after her scientific discoveries help improve the world.
And finally I started reading the final story of the book, ポテチ. It has more returning characters, 今村, 中村, and 黒澤. Including サクリファイス (which starred 黒澤), this is the third story I can remember with this group involved in some way (they're major characters in ホワイトラビット, a full-length book by this author. I also wouldn't be surprised if they were in one of the 終末のフール stories). They're pretty fun and usually have good banter. There's also a female character, 大西若葉, who is kind of tagging along with 今村 as they investigate a guy who was harassing a girl who they met through a phone call made to the man whose home they were burgling (it makes sense in the story).

Listened to about 5 hours of audio in total this week (plus some FFX today). Mostly it was the audiobook version of 往復書簡 (by 湊かなえ). I still struggle with audiobook concentration, but I've decided to just ride it out instead of listening to the same parts over and over so I'm about 80% through now. Part of the listening was also a livestream a youtuber I like put on.

Life Stuff
I finished my first school project! Still a few more with due dates weighing on me, but it's a big relief to close the book on at least one. That's really all this week. School taking up about 95% of my brain space. Maybe I'll get a break when I'm done with this first wave of projects (unlikely since wave 2 then starts piling up).
